About Yannick
Yannick Hanfmann, 30 years old from Karlsruhe, is one of the best German tennis players. Unlike most tennis players, Yannick chose a different path to make it to the highest level on the ATP Tour. After high school, Yannick went to study in the United-States and played college tennis at the University of South California where he helped his team clinch the NCAA Championship.
In 2015, Yannick started his professional career at 23 years old and had a breakthrough in 2017 after his a sensational run to the final at the Swiss Open Gstaad, his first ever ATP Tour level final (ATP 250). Throughout the years, Yannick has been performing on home soil with a fantastic run at the BMW Open 2017 reaching the Quarter-finals as qualifier and winning 4 ATP Challenger events between October 2017 and August 2019.
Yannick started the year 2017 ranked no. 317 to finish no. 119 in the world. On July 2018, Yannick first entered the top 100 of the ATP ranking which was the reward of all his hard work.
In 2020, Yannick reached his second final of a ATP 250 tournament in Kitzbuhel, thus confirming that he belongs to the best players in the world and reached a career high ranking no. 92 in the world on May 2021.
At the Australian Open 2022, Yannick won his first ever main draw match in a Grand Slam beating Kokkinakis on home soil which was a big milestone for him after 7 attempts. At only 30 years old, the best is yet to come for Yannick.
